After dusk, to hide the guilt of mankind,
Bishops’ blood edged swords won their way.
Bound by the rusty chains of faith,
facing a flow-tide she could not stall,
yet, glowing altar candle bright,
she stands cheek turned,
head high with sturdy chest,
her Covenant conviction to light,
so those witnessing her end could attest
when summoned to her heavenly tryst,
there was no shade of shame in saintly breast,
but in her eyes the sadness of her Christ,
whose loving faith in God was put to test
as wood to back, she too is crucified.
