Biography.

• Born in Shropshire border country, I was brought up in the Midlands and left school at fifteen, facing a life of adventure as a soldier, fireman and public house manager. Now working as a security officer life is more sedate, giving me time to think and write. From early in my life, writing was a steady pulse. In my fifties, I embarked on a creative writing course to refine my skills, my studies culminating in a MA degree from  Liverpool John Moores University.

• Amongst the many authors that inspire me are, Edgar Allen Poe for mastery of mystery, D.H. Lawrence for deep living characters, Jean Rhys for sense-invading atmosphere, Mervyn Peak for the creation of a seamless gothic world and Dan Brown for intricate, fast moving plots.

I am working on a novel called Flannan Enigma, a commercial thriller. The World Economic Compact Overseeing Prosperity (WECOP) is set to save the world from hunger, war and ecological disaster, but Britains plans to build a new generation of power stations is a threat to its success. As holocaust looms, diverse lives entwine, pitting love against resolve and testing loyalties to destruction. The protagonist is an antihero, plagued by the doubts, fears and human duplicity that are common to us all, in varying degrees. This creates a bond of empathy between the reader and the character.
